Jerry Buhlmann (born 26 November 1959) is the Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Aegis Network. He has served in this role since May 2010.
Buhlmann started his professional career at Young & Rubicam in 1980. In 1989 he started BBJ media agency. In 1999, Aegis Group plc acquired BBJ, rebranding it as Vizeum in 2003.
From 2000 to 2003, Buhlmann held the position of CEO of Carat International, responsible for Aegis Media’s international clients.
In 2003, Buhlmann was promoted to CEO Aegis Media EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). In May 2008, he was promoted to CEO of Aegis Media, the larger of the group's two divisions. At the same time, he joined the board of Aegis Group plc and instigated a management restructuring.
In May 2010, Jerry Buhlmann was appointed Group Chief Executive of Aegis Group plc.
In May 2012, Buhlmann negotiated a 240p per share cash offer with Dentsu, the Tokyo-based advertising group, for Aegis Group plc. The board recommended this cash offer to shareholders and it was approved at an extraordinary general meeting in August 2012. The sale is one of advertising's largest transactions.
