The Jericoacoara airport (IATA: JJD, ICAO: SSVV) is an airport being built to serve Cruz and Jijoca de Jericoacoara, two municipalities in the Brazilian state of Ceará. It will open in May 2017 to flights by Azul Brazilian Airlines from Recife and Campinas.
The Ceará government and the Ministry of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation provided 14.4 million reals for the construction of airports in Jericoacoara and Aracati. The Jericoacoara airport will open on 5 May 2017, when Azul Brazilian Airlines commences flights from Recife. Azul initially planned to launch its flights in April; however, civil aviation authorities noted issues during an inspection of the airport, and the airport is not prepared to receive flights so soon. Construction will be complete in June.
The airport has one runway that measures 2,200 by 45 metres (7,218 ft × 148 ft).
