Jeffrey Linde "Jeff" McWaters (born September 6, 1956) is a Republican politician and former member of the Senate of Virginia. He represented the 8th district, which includes a portion of Virginia Beach. He was first elected in a special election in January 2010, which was held to replace Ken Stolle, who had been elected sheriff. He left office after the 2015 elections, serving one and a half terms.

McWaters was born September 6, 1956, to a plant superintendent and school teacher in Paducah, Kentucky. He attended Paducah Tilghman High School in his home town of Paducah, playing on the football team and participating on Paducah Tilghman's 1974 state championship team. He went to a local college in Paducah before going to the University of Kentucky, where he studied accounting. He earned a position on the Kentucky Wildcats football team as a walk-on, but a knee injury prevented him from playing a single game.

After graduating from University of Kentucky, McWaters joined Ernst and Young as an accountant. After that he worked as an operational audit manager for CIGNA, an American health care provider. In 1994, he founded Amerigroup, a health care provider which operates out of Virginia Beach.

McWaters ran to replace outgoing Republican and sheriff-elect Ken Stolle in a special election held on January 13, 2010. He defeated city councilwoman Rosemary Wilson in the Republican primary, and then Democrat Bill Fleming 8,051 votes to 2,184 in the general election.
