Jay Newland is an American music producer, engineer and mixer.

Newland was educated at Berklee College of Music and is a nine-time Grammy Award winner best known for his work with Norah Jones on her 32 times worldwide platinum debut Come Away with Me and her 11 times worldwide platinum selling second album 'Feels Like Home. In fact Newland co-produced and mixed her biggest hit, Don't Know Why with the legendary producer/arranger Arif Mardin. He also collected four Grammys for his work on her debut album including Best Engineered Recording.

Ayọ had her debut release, Joyful, produced and mixed by Jay Newland. It reached Double-Platinum status in France, Platinum in Germany and Poland, Gold status in Switzerland, Italy and Greece. The album was released in the United States on 20 November 2007 by Interscope Records. Newland produced Ayọ's first two albums and is currently in the studio in New York City producing and mixing her fourth album.

Newland co-produced the last album by the legendary singer, Richie Havens, entitled Nobody Left to Crown featuring a magnificent version of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" with Brian Bacchus.

Newland has worked with artists in many genres, including (besides the aforementioned Norah Jones and Ayọ), Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Hallyday, Charlie Haden, Pat Metheny, Missy Higgins, Dolly Parton, Etta James, Abbey Lincoln, Tom Tom Club, Stan Getz, Richie Havens, Lucky Peterson, Mavis Staples, Linda Thompson, Boz Scaggs, Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spalding, James Cotton, Buddy Guy, Bo Diddley, Pinetop Perkins, Junior Wells, Sun Ra, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Keith Jarrett, Taj Mahal, Eddy Mitchell, Juliette Greco, Michel LeGrand, Randy Weston, Bobby Womack and Dizzy Gillespie among many others.
