James Mallinson is a British Indologist.

Supervised by Alexis Sanderson, James Mallinson's doctoral thesis at the University of Oxford was a translation of the Khecarīvidyā with an explanation of its place in the Hatha Yoga traditions.

An author of several books, book chapters and papers, he is currently a Lecturer in Sanskrit and Classical and Indian Studies at SOAS, University of London.
