K. N. Jagannatha Varma (1 May 1939 – 20 December 2016) was an actor in Malayalam film and Television serial. He was also an accomplished Kathakali artist. His son Manu Varma also a recognized artist and his son-in-law Viji Thampi is a well-known film director. He acted in a number of Malayalam movies performing stereotypical roles of a senior police officer, judge or a priest. Some of his noted roles were in movies New Delhi, Lelam and Pathram.

Varma joined the Kerala Police Force in 1963, before getting active in movies. He retired from Kerala Police as an S.P. (Superintendent of police). Varma is an accomplished Kathakali artist, having mastered the art from Pallippuram Gopalan Nair Asan. He was also a percussionist, learned the art from Kalamandalam Raman Namboothiri after retiring from Government service. His younger brother K. N. Surendranatha Varma, a retired college professor, is also a Kathakali artist.

He was born as third among five children to Thekkedathu Kovilakam Kerala Varma Thampuran and Kattunkal Kovilakam Ambalika at Varanad, Cherthala, Kerala. He has four siblings: Raveendranathan, Malleenathan, Surendranathan and Prabhavathi. He had his primary education from Muriyanat School, Cherthala Boys high School, Sanadhana Darma College, Alappuzha and graduated from M.G. College with Zoology, Botany as Main subject. He is married to Santha Varma, who is from Anjerimadom, Thrissur. The couple have a son Manu Varma, who is an accomplished Television actor, and a daughter Priya. Famous Malayalam movie director Viji Thampi is his Son-in-law.

He died on 20th December 2016 in a private hospital at Neyyattinkara near Thiruvananthapuram, aged 77. He was suffering from various diseases for a while. His last film was 'Dolls', released in 2013. His last TV serial was 'Mangalyapattu', which is still being aired in Mazhavil Manorama channel.
