J.A. Adande (/əˈdɑːnd/; born October 25, 1970 in Los Angeles, California) is an American sports columnist who covers the National Basketball Association for ESPN.com. He also serves as a panelist for ESPN's Around the Horn and as a guest host on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption television shows. Adande is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Journalism,

Adande began his career as a sports columnist for the Los Angeles Times

Adande joined ESPN.com as an NBA columnist in August 2007. The panel at Around the Horn all congratulated him on the job and played a joke "Buy or Sell" segment about Adande's comments about joining ESPN. He is also now an NBA analyst on SportsCenter.

Adande announced via Twitter on August 16th that he was relocating to Chicago and becoming Director of the new sports journalism program at Northwestern University, as well as a faculty member of the Medill School.

During his time at ESPN, Adande has covered the Olympic Games, Wimbledon, the Super Bowl, the NCAA Final Four, and the NBA Finals.
