Issy Van Randwyck

Issy van Randwyck (born 1963, Hong Kong) is an English singer and actress of Dutch descent. She is a former member of British comedy singing group and satirical cabaret act Fascinating Aïda. She has since acted on stage and television.

Of Dutch descent, Baroness Isabelle van Randwyck grew up in Kent and was educated at West Heath School. After learning secretarial skills and cookery, she appeared in cabaret at Madame Jojo's and sang with a band. In 1990 she was a featured vocalist, along with Robin Wright, on a dance version of California Dreamin' by the studio group The Midnight Shift. She also sang with the harmonica player Larry Adler in 1991, also touring with him. She can also be heard on his album The Glory of Gershwin. As an actress she has appeared at the National Theatre and in the TV Sitcom Waiting for God.

She joined Fascinating Aïda for five years in 1994, and has been very busy since, performing in plays, musicals and shows nationwide (such as the title role in a pantomime in Guilford in 2004), and television guest appearances.

On Sunday 8 June 2008, she performed alongside Sarah Travis (another former FA member) and Simon Slater in a show entitled Magic, Music and Mayhem at the Jermyn Street Theatre. Coincidentally, her performance followed the reunion of Fascinating Aïda, performed in the same theatre over a two-week period.

From 6–31 August 2009 she will be performing Becoming Marilyn - Norma Jean meets Marilyn Monroe in this portrait of an icon directed by Gareth Armstrong - the show will take place in the Edinburgh Suite at the Assembly Rooms as part of the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

She is married to Edward Hall, with whom she worked on A Streetcar Named Desire. They have two daughters. Both Van Randwyck and her daughter appeared in the TV series Kingdom in early 2008.
