Iso is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
Iso first appeared in Inhuman #4 during the Inhumanity storyline and was created by Charles Soule and Ryan Stegman.
At the start of the Inhumanity storyline, Xiaoyi Chen is a Chinese girl who was transformed into an Inhuman when exposed to the Terrigen Cloud that came from the resulting Terrigen Bomb that went off during the Infinity storyline. When the Chinese military wanted to use Xiaoyi as a weapon, she is saved by Reader.
Reader brought Xiaoyi to Ennilux who had hired Reader to bring Xiaoyi to them. Upon Reader finding out that Ennilux plans to destroy Xiaoyi's mind in order to make her the host of Capo, both of them fled to New Attilan where they met Queen Medusa and Xiaoyi took on the name Iso.
Sometime later, Iso discovered the blueprints for a portal and "fixed" the device with the help of Flint. They discovered that the portal device was previously used by the Inhuman King Kalden 2,000 years ago where he banished Gordon and Snarkle to another dimension for an unspecified crime. When Snarkle grabbed Flint, he ordered Gordon to grab Iso only for Gordon to remain in that dimension. Iso and Flint defeated Snarkle where they have him remanded to the dungeon.
During the Inhumans vs. X-Men storyline, Beast works with Iso to discover any potential cures to the Terrigen cloud that has been toxic to Mutants. Medusa sends Iso and Inferno to find out what happened to Black Bolt and Crystal as she prepares for battle. Iso and Inferno are chased by Wolverine and the time-displaced Angel. They manage to find Eldrac and he sends them away through a portal just before Wolverine can catch them. On the other side of the portal, they find Old Man Logan waiting for them. While Inferno distracts Old Man Logan, Iso discovers Forge nearby with a device that the X-Men are planning to use to change the structure of the Terrigen Cloud so they can incinerate it. Iso and Inferno manage to defeat Old Man Logan and Forge and destroy the device and while they flee they take Forge as their prisoner. Iso contacts Ms. Marvel and has her form a team of Inhumans that the X-Men didn't account for. Iso explains to Medusa that the X-Men only attacked them because the Terrigen Cloud was saturating and their time was running out. Moon Girl supported Iso's claim. Following the fight and the removal of the Terrigen Cloud, Medusa abdicates the throne and gives all leadership duties to Iso, knowing that her people won't understand why she destroyed the remaining Terrigen Clouds.
