Irfan is an Indian actor who has appeared in Tamil films and television serials. He began his career with a Television serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal, which gave him huge popularity among Tamil audience. He got his big break through a movie titled Sundaattam which was a box office failure. The actor was next seen in a village drama titled Ponge Ezhu Manohara which got released in February 2015. Currently, he is expecting his third film as a lead actor through an action thriller subject Ru, tentatively expected to release during the fall of winter this year.

Born on 29 November 1985 Irfan comes from a Muslim family consisting of his dad, mom and an elder sister. Having done his schooling in Asan Memorial School, Chennai, he went on to purse his Bachelor's degree from Loyola College, Chennai. Coming from a business background and dad being a businessman, Irfan wanted to achieve in the film industry. Apart from acting, his interests also lies in Direction. During college days and post his first serial, he also released couple of short films.

Irfan made his acting debut with the television serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal, a school based drama aired in Star Vijay Television. He consequently got an opportunity to appear in the reality dance show Jodi Number One on the same channel and finished in third place with Monisha Ravishankar in the show's second season. He went on to perform his first movie titled Pattalam along with his co-actors from Kana Kaanum Kaalangal. He also appeared in a supporting role in Eppadi Manasukkul Vanthai (2012) before landing up in his debut solo role in Sundaattam (2013), a film based on carrom gambling in Royapuram area in North Chennai. The film featuring him alongside Arundhati, won average reviews from critics post release. In 2013, he was placed as the replacement for Mirchi Senthil as his son, in the long running television serial Saravannan Meenatchi, his biggest acting assignment till date, which he dropped in hope of winning in his film career instead, claiming that the script will not give him a big enough name amongst the audience and lent his role to another person on 14 August 2014.
