Inés Arrimadas García (Jerez de la Frontera, born July 3, 1981) is one of the one hundred and thirty-five members of parliament the Parliament of Catalonia and is spokesperson for the Citizens party Catalonia.
She became a member of the party in 2011 and she first started being the spokesperson of the youth section. She became a member of parliament after the 2012 election.
Inés is the youngest of 5 children born to Rufino Arrimades and Inés García, both of whom came from Salmoral in the Province of Salamanca.
Inés studied at the fee-paying Catholic school Nuestra Señora del Pilar in Jerez de la Frontera. She dreamed of being an archaeologist and showed a great interest in the culture of Catalonia, to the point of taking language lessons from a Catalan classmate.
She was also a passionate fan of FC Barcelona
At 18 Inés began studying law at Pablo de Olavide University. She also undertook postgraduate studies in international business at IPAG Business School in Nice organised through the Erasmus programme.
At 24, Inés worked for a year and a half in the petrochemical industry.
For 6 years she worked as a consultant at D'Aleph in Barcelona, moving to the city in 2008.
Inés became interested in Citizens in 2010 and the following year she became the party's youth spokesperson.
