Imitate Modern is a London-based urban contemporary photography and art gallery, exhibiting artworks by emerging artists from around the globe.
The gallery was launched in 2011, initially occupying a space in Marylebone, London. In 2015 Imitate Modern became a pop-up gallery, opening its doors in various edgy and established locations, including 90 Piccadilly and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. In 2016 the gallery moved to its new permanent space at 19 Shepherd Market, London.Imitate Modern hosted first London solo exhibitions for such established artists, like Tyler Shields, Cartrain and STIK.The gallery is known for hosting a number of influential shows, including "40": a retrospective dedicated to Kate Moss's anniversary in 2014 by Russell Marshall, which received a lot of media attention, and a solo show by highly acclaimed British street artist STIK, which was sold out in the first ten minutes.
