The song was produced by Eazy himself and Remo. It is G-Eazy's second most successful single; despite peaking at number 98 on the US Billboard Hot 100 more than six months after its original release, it was still certified Platinum January 9, 2016. A remix was released featuring an additional verse by Rick Ross.
The video premiered on Vevo and followed by YouTube on May 28th, 2014. It was produced by Abby Vo directed by Bobby Bruderle, who is a companion of G-Eazy having done photography work for him since 2011 and directing other videos of his such as "Almost Famous" and "Been On". Prior to the release of this song, G-Eazy played it live several times on his These Things Happen Tour.
On July 24, 2014, G-Eazy made his U.S. television debut best artist on Late Night with Seth Meyers performing "I Mean It" and "Far Alone".
