The single was Fats Domino's third release in a row to reach number one on the R&B Best Sellers chart, where it stayed for six weeks. The single also continued Fats Domino's crossover appeal when "I'm Walkin'" peaked at number four on the pop singles chart. The song was featured in The Blues Brothers movie, during the scene in which the orphanage kids help spread the word of the band's revival concert.
