Hungary returned to Eurovision in 2007 and the winner of the category "Newcomer of the Year" at the Fonogram Hungarian Music Awards represented Hungary. A jury selected 6 acts then televoting decided the winner. Magdi Rúzsa represented Hungary at Eurovision, singing "Unsubstantial Blues". She made it into the final of the contest, where she performed her song eighth, following Slovenia and preceding Lithuania. She finished the contest in ninth place with 128 points. In the semi-final she performed twenty-second and came 2nd with 224 points.
