It reached Easter island in a few hours and finally reached Japan and New Zealand after about 1 day. Argentina has sent construction teams to Chiloe island to help reconstruct some of the washed away coastal buildings.

160 people were arrested by military police in Concepcion between March 1 and 2.

There will be a special mass in Valparaíso on March 3 to remember the town's dead.
