Hollaphonic are an electronic music duo based in Dubai, UAE, comprising Greg Stainer and Olly Wood both originally from the UK. They were the first dance music duo to be signed to a major record label in the Middle East
Their first single “I Don’t Want It To End” was released in Feb 2013 was ‘A’ listed on all national radio stations in the UAE and went straight to No.1 on iTunes.
Greg Stainer has had two Gold Discs, a discography of over fifty productions and remixes on record labels such as Hed Kandi,CR2, Toolroom Records, Stealth, Armada Music, Pacha Recordings and Universal as well as a full-length solo Album "6mil 2headphones". Wood had been writing songs and performing as an MC in the South Coast UK Garage scene and then around the UK and abroad with the likes of Dub Pistols Wood has worked to establish a United Arab Emirates music industry with improved publishing rights for artists in the region, and was selected by Gulf Business as one of “The top 30 under 30 businessmen in the Middle East” for his further work behind the scenes committed to defining a unified and internationally acclaimed Middle East music scene.
Hollaphonic became the first middle eastern act to be featured, and their video shown, on MTV Dance
March 2013, Hollaphonic performed their first gig together live in front of a crowd of 40,000 at the Dubai World Cup Night at Meydan Racecourse alongside Seal. In December that year, Hollaphonic performed on the main stage along with headliners Calvin Harris, The Prodigy and Disclosure at Creamfields Abu Dhabi.
