Heritage Academy is a private college preparatory school in Columbus, Mississippi. It was founded in 1964 as a segregation academy.

The school is located in north Columbus. The campus comprises 25 acres (100,000 m2), with two major classroom buildings serving students in the elementary, junior high, and high school areas. In addition to the gymnasium, athletic facilities include a lighted football field, baseball field, and a softball field. The campus also houses an elementary playground, two activities buildings, a spirit hall for cheer and dance, an indoor baseball/softball practice facility, and a sports complex. In 2017, a new elementary wing was built and was named in memory of longtime Heritage Academy educator Mrs. Martha Claire Kennedy-Fitzner.

Heritage Academy is a fully accredited member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS). Heritage Academy saw a severe enrollment decrease in the amount of 43 students from the 2016-2017 school year to the 2017-2018 school year.

Dr. Gregory A. Carlyle has served Heritage Academy as Headmaster since 2012. It is his belief that the key to a healthy career is to be flexible and adaptable to one's surroundings. Sean Harrison has served as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director since 2016 and his philosophy states that a strong work ethic builds a confident character. Mrs. Cindy Wamble, a longtime area educator, has been with Heritage Academy Elementary as its principal for 5 years; it is her belief that under the proper guidance and care all children can grow into intelligent and responsible adults. The school is governed by a multi-member school board who collectively make decisions that are best for business - not the student body.

Heritage Academy has a highly competitive athletic program. In 1986, the Heritage Academy Football team won the MPSA AAA State Championship; and finished as North State Champions in 1994 (3A), 1999 (2A), and 2003 (2A).

In 2012 the Heritage Academy Football team won the MAIS Division 3 State Championship.

In 1992, the Heritage Academy Basketball team won the MPSA AA State Championship; and finished as North State Champions in 1995 (3A), 2002 (2A), and 2005 (3A).

Heritage Academy golf team has had recent success winning the MAIS 3A State Championship in 2012, 2016, and 2017.

In addition to these sports, Heritage Academy also offers baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, tennis, and track and field.

Non-athletic extracurricular opportunities include cheerleading, competitive dance, robotics, quiz bowl, various school clubs, and the spirit store.
