HelloSign is a cloud-based electronic signature tool that enables users to sign, fill out, send, retrieve, and save documents paperlessly. Any documents signed using HelloSign are legally valid under The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act passed by the U.S. Congress in 2000, as well as the European Directive (EC/1999/93).
HelloSign users may fill out and sign documents on a computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Users may also upload and prepare documents to be signed and filled out by another party or parties, otherwise known as a "signature request." Recipients receive the signature request via e-mail, in which they click the "Review & Sign" button to begin the signature process. The document will display, and signers are guided through the document with arrows indicating where they need to sign, fill in text, or select a check-box, as indicated by the originator of the document. At the end, the signer clicks "I Agree," and a copy of the signed document is e-mailed to the signer and returned to the requester. Users may also create and save editable templates for documents they send repeatedly. Users may add co-workers to their "team" and share templates with team members as well.
HelloSign integrates with cloud storage services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, Box, and SkyDrive, allowing users to save and access their signed documents in any of their cloud storage accounts. In addition to its web application, HelloSign also offers a free mobile app for iPhone and Android devices.
Heavily integrated with Google, HelloSign also offers a Google App for on-boarding teams, and provides the option for users to use their Gmail username and password to log directly into HelloSign.
In January 2013, HelloSign released HelloSign for Gmail, a Gmail extension that adds a "sign" button to all attachments received via e-mail, allowing users to open, sign and send documents from directly within their Gmail accounts.
In March 2014, HelloSign was selected as a Google launch partner for their Google add-ons release. The HelloSign for Google Docs add-on lets users directly sign any Google Docs right inside Google Docs. HelloSign for Google Docs also enables users to request a signature on a Google Doc from another party.
