The Hellenic Federation of Rugby League was the governing body for the sport of rugby league football in Greece from 2013 to 2016. The association was formed in 2013.
In July 2016, the General Secretariat of Sports of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports recognised the sport of rugby league and assigned the responsibility of its Greek development and administration to the Hellenic Federation of Modern Pentathlon. According to the Greek Law covering sports federations, a federation must have at least twenty active clubs, in order to be recognised. As it is difficult for a new sport to have 20 clubs already upon the formation of a would-be federation, it is not uncommon for unrelated sports to be included in a federation (for example, rugby union is in the federation for handball, and both baseball and field hockey are in the federation for gymnastics).
Tasos Pantazidis, the founder of the Hellenic Federation of Rugby League, became the president of the Hellenic Federation of Modern Pentathlon following its elections in September 2017.
