Harry Brown (born April 13, 1955) is an American businessman and politician; he is a member of the North Carolina State Senate. He represents the state's sixth Senate district, which consists of Jones and Onslow counties.
Brown is an automobile dealer. He first ran for the North Carolina House as a Democrat in 2002, but was unsuccessful.
He left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party. In 2004 Brown defeated Democratic incumbent Cecil Hargett. He retained his seat in 2006 by beating challenger Carolyn Pittman-Dorsey.
Brown was largely responsible for the adoption of a anti wind power measure - house bill 589 - which has banned any new wind turbines including those already in development. Coincidentally these in development projects are in Democrat controlled Northampton.
