Harriet May Mills (1857 - May 15, 1936) was a prominent American civil rights leader who played a pivotal role in the 19th century women's rights movement. She is a graduate of Cornell University. Mills was a friend and respected associate of the leading suffragists of the day -- Lucy Stone, Susan B. Anthony, Carrie Chapman Catt and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Mills died in Syracuse on May 16, 1935 after a period of illness.
