The Hardin–Simmons Cowboys football team represents Hardin–Simmons University in the sport of college football.
Hardin–Simmons was a member of the Border Intercollegiate Athletic Association from 1941–1961, during which time the football team won three conference championships; 1942 (shared with Texas Tech), 1946, and 1958. The team made four Sun Bowl appearances, with a resulting 1–2–1 record, including the first Sun Bowl played at the collegiate level, on January 1, 1936. Hardin–Simmons has the distinction of having appeared in three bowl games in December 1948, resulting in two wins and a tie.
