Haitham Mohammed Rafi is an Omani singer who sings Arabic, English and Hindi songs . He is the winner of Indian singing talent show Dil Hai Hindustani from Star Plus.
He was born in a Baloch family in Muscat, Oman. At the age of four, Haitham had started to develop an interest in Bollywood movies and songs. He began to sing Bollywood songs. His sister Asma Mohammad Rafi is also a singer having competed in the Saregamapa show. Their father is a massive Mohammad Rafi fan and also a singer, who was named Mohammad Rafi by his father after the legendary Bollywood singer.
He won the title of Muscat Icon in the year 2012 and earned fame in his country, Oman.
He always used to ask his mother to go to Bollywood and become a playback singer. His mother always supported him. He wanted to go to India. One day, he got a call from someone and he told him that there is an International show in India which is searching for foreign contestants who sing in Hindi. Haitham was interested in it so he sent some videos of his songs for auditions. A week later, he got a call, and he was selected for the Television auditions from around 1000+ people, and was invited to India. He went to India in November 2016. And he was the 1st one to get selected in the top 12. Later he was eliminated but then from wild card entry he was back in Dil hai Hindustani and reached the finale. He was the 1st finalist among the 5 finalists. On 1 April 2017 Haitham Mohammed Rafi was declared the winner of dil hai Hindustani as he had got the highest votes from all over the world.
