GroundWorks Theatre

Darkhorse Theater is a performing arts venue in Nashville, Tennessee, that hosts art forms including theater, music, and dance. Formerly a Presbyterian church, the facility seats 136 people.

Darkhorse Theater was established in 1990 by Shannon Wood and her husband, Peter Kurland. Wood had previously been stage manager of the Tennessee Repertory Theatre. Initially Darkhouse was a theatrical company that produced its members' original plays, but it transitioned into a performing venue due to a combination of the founders' "burnout" and demand from other performing groups.

Performing groups resident at Darkhorse include ACT 1, Groundworks Theater, Real Life Players, Sista Style, Actors Bridge, Dream 7, Destiny Theater Experience, John Holleman and Co., PG-13 Players, and Rhubarb Theatre.

Nonresident performing groups that have put on some of their productions at Darkhorse include the Nashville Shakespeare Festival and People's Branch Theatre.
