Gregory Ralph "Greg" Evigan (born October 14, 1953) is an American actor known for the television series B. J. and the Bear, My Two Dads, P.S. I Luv U and TekWar.
Evigan was born in South Amboy, New Jersey, the son of Barbara Elizabeth, a homemaker, and Ralph Milan Evigan, an electrician. He grew up in Sayreville, New Jersey, and attended Sayreville War Memorial High School, graduating in 1971. In 2007 he was inducted into the school's Alumni Hall of Fame for his contributions to the arts. Evigan is married to dancer Pamela C. Serpe and has three children. His youngest daughter Briana is the lead actress in Step Up 2: The Streets and Step Up: All In. Another daughter is actress Vanessa Lee Evigan. Vanessa was in the Christmas movie Holiday in Handcuffs, with Mario Lopez and Melissa Joan Hart (Vanessa portrayed Hart's sister). Evigan's son Jason is the front man of an LA-based band called After Midnight Project and wrote the song "Perfect Day" for Legally Blonde's soundtrack.
Evigan was a teen idol during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He auditioned for and landed roles in Jesus Christ Superstar and Grease (in which he played the leading character).
Evigan is best known for his work in three hit television series:
However, Evigan appeared in other productions as well.
It was with B. J. and the Bear (which actually began in 1978 as a made-for-television movie) that Evigan reached pop-star status, and he began receiving cover from such magazines as Tiger Beat, Teen Beat and many other magazines geared towards teenaged girls. In 1980 he posed bare-chested for a pin-up wall poster.
