Gregory Joseph "Greg" Burke (born 8 November 1959) is an American journalist. He is the Director of the Holy See Press Office. He was formerly a correspondent for the Fox News Channel, and for Time Magazine, based in Rome. In June 2012 it was announced he would be taking up the position of senior communications adviser with the Secretariat of State.
Burke has been credited with helping to create Pope Francis' public persona, using his own experience in public relations.
He was appointed a vice director of the Holy See Press Office on February 1, 2016, and was promoted to director of that office on July 11, 2016.
Burke is from St. Louis, Missouri. He is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism. He is a member of Opus Dei.
