The Greek Cup 1999–2000 was the 58th edition of The Greek Football Cup, or Greek Cup for short.
Totally 56 teams participated, 18 from Alpha Ethniki, 18 from Beta, and 20 from Gamma. It was held in 6 rounds, included final. An additional round was held between first and second, with 4 matches, in order that the teams would continue to be 16.
This year came back the phase of groups in the First round, after its provisional three-year suppression. Until quarter-finals, all matches were single. The most interesting round was Second (Round of 16), after drawing of Olympiacos against PAOK and Aris against Panathinaikos, with the home teams to take the qualification with difficulty.
Final was contested by AEK Athens, that had eliminated inter alia Olympiacos, and Ionikos, for first and unique until now time in their history, having favourable draws in their course to the Final, but also after a very difficult qualification from First round in the goals difference, after triple equivalence in standings with Leonidio and Panetolikos. However, the win with score 8–0 against Nafpaktiakos Asteras in quarter-finals was remarkable.
AEK Athens were awarded easy and rightly in their 12th win of competition. In remarkables of the Final was a goal of Demis Nikolaidis with hand, and while the result was still 0–0, that finally cancelled. Referee Giorgos Douros did not see that and allocated it, in order to correct afterwards his decision, after an indication of himself Nikolaidis.
The phase was played in a single round-robin format. Each win would gain 3 points, each draw 1 and each loss would not gain any point.
Marko and Neapoli qualified without matches in the Additional Round.
Matches were held on 12 January 2000.
First legs were held on 9–10 February–16th-17th 2000. Second legs on 1st-2 March-8th-9th.
First legs were held on 12 April 2000 and second were held on 19th.
The 58th Greek Cup Final was played at the Athens Olympic Stadium "Spyridon Louis".
