Government High School for Boys


Government High School for Boys, Salarwala, was established as a junior Anglo-Vernacular School in 1920. It was promoted to its current high school status in 1937. A degree college is currently under construction. The school has a record 3,000 enrolled.

Up until 1970, the school had a hostel for the boys who lived too far to commute. It was closed when other schools sprang up in nearby areas.

The school has a library with about 20,000 books, including collections of science, fiction, and rare Persian books.

This School has always been a hub of sporting activities. So it should not be come as a great surprise that it has produced some of the finest Kabadi players and footballers . Names of some famous Kabadi players are
