Goumoens-le-Jux is a former municipality in the district of Gros-de-Vaud in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.
The municipalities of Éclagnens, Goumoens-la-Ville and Goumoens-le-Jux merged on 1 July 2011 into the new municipality of Goumoëns.
Goumoens-le-Jux is first mentioned in 1447 as Gumoens lo Jux. During the Ancien Régime it was known as Le Craux.
Goumoens-le-Jux has an area, as of 2009[update], of 1.28 square kilometers (0.49 sq mi). Of this area, 0.6 km2 (0.23 sq mi) or 46.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.41 km2 (0.16 sq mi) or 32.0% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.27 km2 (0.10 sq mi) or 21.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.04 km2 (9.9 acres) or 3.1% is either rivers or lakes.
Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 1.6% and transportation infrastructure made up 2.3%. while parks, green belts and sports fields made up 17.2%. Out of the forested land, all of the forested land area is covered with heavy forests. Of the agricultural land, 30.5% is used for growing crops and 16.4% is pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.
The municipality was part of the Échallens District until it was dissolved on 31 August 2006, and Goumoens-le-Jux became part of the new district of Gros-de-Vaud.
The municipality is located in the Gros-de-Vaud region on the right bank of the Talent river.
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Argent, on a Cross Gules a Mullet pierced Or between four Escallops of the same.
Goumoens-le-Jux has a population (as of 2009[update]) of 45. As of 2008[update], about 2.2% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (1999–2009 ) the population has changed at a rate of 50%. It has changed at a rate of 50% due to migration and at a rate of 0% due to births and deaths.
