"Go Wild in the Country" was written by Dave Barbarossa, Leigh Gorman, Malcolm McLaren and Matthew Ashman.
It was first released in 1982 and entered the UK Singles Chart in January, reaching No. 7 and staying for 13 weeks on the chart. It was the first single by the band to not be produced by Malcolm McLaren.
