Gilmore Guys is an audio podcast established in 2014, following Kevin T. Porter and Demi Adejuyigbe as they watch every episode of the television series Gilmore Girls. The show represents two points of view, as Kevin is a longtime Gilmore Girls fan and Demi is watching it for the first time. The podcast also features interviews (dubbed 'Gilmore Gabs') with the members of the Gilmore Girls cast and crew, including Milo Ventimiglia, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn, Liza Weil, Liz Torres, Keiko Agena, David Sutcliffe and more. The Gilmore Guys also perform live shows, having taken the podcast on several tours around the United States. In January 2017 they began commenting on Bunheads, another series by Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
On September 17, 2014, Kevin tweeted the below, to which Demi replied, expressing interest.
Wanna start a podcast where we go through every episode of Gilmore Girls called Gilmore Guys. Who wants to co-host / be a guest?
— Kevin T. Porter (@KevinTPorter)
Prior to beginning the podcast together, Kevin and Demi had previously met and corresponded (primarily through mutual friends, attendance at live screenings and UCB shows), but Episode 1 of their podcast was the first time they had recorded content together. In June 2015, the guys were invited to take part in the ATX Festival in Austin, Texas. They performed two live shows, and worked the red carpet for the Gilmore Girls panel, interviewing cast members as they arrived. Since the ATX Festival, the guys have performed live shows in LA, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Boston, Toronto and Dallas. The live shows also contain musical numbers, and audience Q&A.
