Gilded Lilys is an American period drama television pilot that was in development for ABC. The pilot was created and produced by Shonda Rhimes. The series was not picked up by ABC.
The network ordered the pilot on January 13, 2012, and filming began in late March 2012 at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to K.J. Steinberg, Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers served as executive producers.
The series, set in 1895, follows the lives of the Lily family, their employees, and their establishment and management of the first luxury hotel in New York City.
