The German European School Manila (formerly German School Manila), (German: Deutsche Europäische Schule Manila) is an international school in Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines. GESM is an IB World School in its Diploma and Primary Years Programme and a Certified Excellent German School Abroad. It is an international school with two parallel sections. It provides quality education in German and English for children from the age of 2 up to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
Founded as the Jose-Rizal Schule, in honor of the Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal, in 1983. It has been recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, now the Department of Education. In 1992, the Jose-Rizal Schule, and the École Française de Manille, formed the Eurocampus. After the Jose-Rizal Schule, changed their name to German School Manila (German: Deutsche Schule Manila), In 2004, the Eurocampus changed their name to the European International School. Lastly, in 2010, the DSM changed their name to their present name.
The German European School Manila has two parallel sections: the International Section and the German Section. With over 36 nationalities in the campus, GESM provides a very European environment, giving an unrestricted transition to any German and international school and university. With its multicultural character in an environment of more than three languages taught at mother tongue level, the school offers a unique opportunity to prepare students to be qualified and responsible members in a global community.
The school is supported by the German government and follows a rigorous German G8-curriculum. At the same time, the school is aware that in the 21st century, national curricula have to be extended and global standards also have to be met. As an IB-World School GESM realises in one concept international methods and standards in addition to the traditional in-depth approach of German curricula.
It is located at the European International School (formerly Eurocampus) in 75 Swaziland St., Better Living Subdivision, Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
