Gateway is a census-designated place (CDP) in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, United States. It is part of the Anchorage, Alaska Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,552 at the 2010 census.

Gateway is located at 61°34′35″N 149°15′9″W / 61.57639°N 149.25250°W / 61.57639; -149.25250 (61.576398, -149.252506).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 16.8 square miles (44 km2), of which, 16.3 square miles (42 km2) of it is land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2) of it (3.04%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2,952 people, 981 households, and 781 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 181.5 people per square mile (70.1/km²).
