Gary Whitford is a television director, producer and voice artist, specialising in live and pre-recorded television programmes.
Gary's career started in Cornwall working for the local BBC Radio Station before moving on to read the news on BBC Network Radio and British Forces Radio (BFBS).
In 1991 Gary presented for Melody Radio London. He also produced David Jacobs brief stint with Melody. Gary took charge of the commercial production department (as small as it was) for a couple of years and worked closely with the presenters and the programme director Peter Black. During this time Gary also provided the voices for some of the characters in the Channel 4 series Eurotrash.
Gary left Melody Radio to become an announcer with British Television network - Channel 4 and was the first live voice heard from their new headquarters in Horseferry Road.
Gary moved from voicing live television to directing it and has directed News 24 and Sky News over the past few years.
In 2007 Gary provided 30 different voices for a new Luc Besson animation, Valerian et Lauraline.
Gary directed live analysis programmes for British EuroSport in 2007 and 2008, including the Tour de France and Africa Cup of Nations.
Gary has also been working with Peter Simon and other auctioneers, directing live programmes for Bid-TV and Price Drop TV.
In 2008, Gary was directing for Al Jazeera English, working with David Frost on his programme, Frost Around the World.
Gary helped etv productions on the re-launch of Gala TV and oversaw the production and crew for a couple of years, working with Ben Hull and Chris Parker.
KidsCoTV is a global children's television network and Gary is the voice of the English service of KidsCoTV.
In 2011 Gary started a campaign to prove that radio does not have to be boring and personality radio is not dead, with new videos released on YouTube.
