Galen Young (born October 16, 1975) is an American-Canadian former professional basketball player. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Young played college basketball for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He was a second-round draft pick (48th pick overall) of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1999 NBA draft.
Young was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 48th overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft. On October 4, 1999, he signed with the Bucks. However, he was later waived by the Bucks on October 28, 1999. He later joined the Grand Rapids Hoops for the 1999–2000 CBA season.
In July 2000, Young joined the Toronto Raptors for the 2000 NBA Summer League. Later that year, he signed with the Bosch Blue Winds of Japan for the 2000–01 season.
In July 2001, Young joined the Indiana Pacers for the 2001 NBA Summer League. On September 26, 2001, he signed with the Pacers. However, he was later waived by the Pacers on October 15, 2001. On November 3, 2001, he was selected by the North Charleston Lowgators in the third round of the 2001 NBA D-League draft.
In 2009, Young played three games for the Filipino basketball team Alaska Aces. Then for the 2009/10 Australian NBL season, Young played for the Perth Wildcats, winning the NBL championship. Young played for the Hawke's Bay Hawks in the 2011 New Zealand NBL season, and after a stint for Bluff City Reign, he returned to play for the Hawks for the 2012 season.
