GO-JEK is an Indonesian hyperlocal transport, logistics and payments startup founded in 2010. It aims to improve the welfare of workers in Indonesia’s vast informal sector. It is also the first startup of Indonesian origin to be classified as a Unicorn after closing a round of funding in August 2016. GO-JEK's fleet now exceeds 200,000 drivers and includes motorcycles, cars and trucks. People in 25 cities in Indonesia can now hail a ride via GO-JEK including Medan, Batam, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Jambi, Padang, Bandar Lampung, Jabodetabek, Bandung, Sukabumi, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Solo, Surabaya, Gresik, Malang, Sidoarjo, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Manado, Makassar, Denpasar, Mataram.

GO-JEK's name is derived from ojek, a transport service that uses motorcycles.

In August 2016, Go-Jek received funding more than 550 million from KKR & Co. and Warburg Pincus LLC. Other companies invested in Go-Jek were Farallon Capital Management LLC and Capital Group Cos. In the same month, the application was downloaded more than 20 million times.
