Francis Edwardes

Francis Edwardes (died 15 December 1725) was a British Member of Parliament.

He was the member of a family that owned extensive lands in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire. He was the second son of Owen Edwardes of Treffgarne, Pembrokeshire.

He was elected to the House of Commons for Haverfordwest in 1722, a seat he held until 1725.

He married Lady Elizabeth Rich, only daughter of Robert Rich, 5th Earl of Warwick and 2nd Earl of Holland and the heiress of her nephew the 7th Earl. Through this marriage the substantial Rich estates (including Holland House in London) came into the Edwardes family.

Edwardes died in December 1725. His son William became Member of Parliament for Haverfordwest and was elevated to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Kensington in 1776.
