Francesco di Antonio del Chierico

Francesco di Antonio del Chierico (1433-1484) was an Italian manuscript illuminator of the early Renaissance period in Florence. He was one of the top pupils of Fra Angelico.

He was patronized by Cosimo, Piero and Lorenzo de Medici but also worked for Federigo da Montefeltro. He produced works for the book merchant Vespasiano da Bisticci, who commissioned works for prominent court libraries, including for Ferdinand I of Naples, Louis XI of France, and Matthias Corvinus, king of Hungary.

In 1463 in collaboration with Zanobi Strozzi, he helped illuminate a choir-book for Cathedral of Florence, now in the Laurentian Library (Nos. 149, 150, 151).
