Fox Chapel Area High School (Established in 1961) is a public school located in the Pittsburgh suburb of O'Hara Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was recognized and honored with the title of "New American High School showcase site" in 1999 under the New American High Schools initiative.
The Fox Chapel Area High School serves the municipalities of Fox Chapel, Aspinwall, Blawnox, Indiana, O'Hara and Sharpsburg.
In 2014, Fox Chapel High School's PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) score placed them in the upper 5% (48th) in the state of Pennsylvania. There are 952 public high schools in Pennsylvania. In 2013, they were 23rd, in 2012, they were 18th, and in 2011 they were ranked 12th.
In 2006 and 2007,Newsweek listed Fox Chapel Area High School as one of the top public high schools in the United States.
Fox Chapel Area High School's Orchestra Director, Mrs. Mairi Cooper has been named Pennsylvania's 2015 teacher of the year for her outstanding knowledge about the art of teaching.
