Ferry Township is a civil township of Oceana County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,296 at the 2000 census.

Ferry Township was established in 1869.

Ferry was home to Ferry Community Schools for many years. In 1995 the school system changed and all students were part of Shelby Public Schools. Ferry Elementary closed after the 2006-2007 school year. The students were sent to other elementary schools in the Shelby Public School district.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93 km2), of which, 36.0 square miles (93 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (0.36%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,296 people, 475 households, and 361 families residing in the township. The population density was 36.0 per square mile (13.9/km²). There were 598 housing units at an average density of 16.6 per square mile (6.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 91.44% White, 0.46% African American, 2.31% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 3.94% from other races, and 1.77% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.94% of the population.

There were 475 households out of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.8% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.8% were non-families. 18.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.04.
