Ferdinand Kirchhof

Ferdinand Kirchhof (born 21 June 1950 in Osnabrück) is a German judge, jurisprudent and tax law expert.

Since 1 October 2007, he is a sitting Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany in the court's first senate, succeeding Udo Steiner. In March 2009, he was elected vice president of the court.

Kirchhof is the younger brother of Paul Kirchhof, a former Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany.
