Fareportal, Inc. is a US-based online travel company, which provides online air travel booking capabilities through its subsidiaries. The largest of these are CheapOair, FareBuzz, and OneTravel, and they also include Travelong, Duke’s Court Travel, Fareportal Media Group, RoyalScenic, ClubMiles, TripCombi, and WKTravel.
The company was founded in 2002 by the Indian-American entrepreneur Sam S. Jain. It was originally a business-to-business company which built and sold an online consumer interface for retail travel agents. In 2006 Jain restructured the company to focus on business-to-consumer sales with the launch of the online air travel booking site CheapOair.
Fareportal is headquartered in New York City, and has operations in North America, Europe, and Asia. The company has approximately 3,500 employees worldwide.
Fareportal and their subsidiaries have won a number of awards, including three Gold and one platinum AVA Digital Awards, 7 Stevie Awards, and numerous Travel Weekly Magellan Awards.
