Far Eastern Group is one of the biggest conglomerates in Taiwan. It was founded in China in 1937 by Yu-Ziang Hsu. The Group has spanned over 10 major industries including petrochemicals and energy, polyester and synthetic fiber, cement and building materials, retail and department stores, financial services, sea/land transportation, communications and Internet, construction, hotels and philanthropies. There are 9 public listed companies in the Group, the total assets of which exceed NT$2,500 billion (US$75.8 billion), with annual revenues surpassing NT$610 billion (US$18.7 billion);it has over 600,000 shareholders.
