Faculty of Performance, Media and English (officially abbreviated as PME) was a faculty of Birmingham City University, established in 2009. It consisted of four distinctive centres across the city, including Birmingham Conservatoire; Birmingham School of Acting; the School of English; and Birmingham School of Media.

In 2014, the Faculty merged with Birmingham Institute of Art and Design to form Birmingham City University's Faculty of Arts, Design and Media.

Birmingham Conservatoire, based in the city centre, is a school for the performance of music that aims to educate and train student musicians to professional standards in solo performance, composition, chamber music, orchestral playing and jazz. The school houses the 520-seat Adrian Boult Hall, Recital Hall, six recording studios and a music library. There are almost 600 musicians that study on undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes. Their Junior Department provides tuition to over 200 young musicians aged 3 to 18 in classical music, chamber music, North Indian music and jazz. Research at the Conservatoire is focused on the study of music in performance, and have a centre for research into Composition and Performance Using Technology.

Birmingham School of Acting, founded in 1936, offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level; and part-time and summer school courses; for adults, young people and children. The school is based in purpose built facilities within the City Centre campus at Millennium Point which include 11 studios with sprung floors, acoustic panelling and air displacement systems. The courses are professionally accredited by Drama UK and has partnerships with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Alongside its undergraduate programmes in Acting and Physical Theatre, the school offers specialist postgraduate programmes in Professional Voice Practice and an MFA in Acting: The British Tradition.

Birmingham School of Media, moved to the University's City Centre campus in 2013, is a Creative Skillset Media Academy offering courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to professional and short courses. Several courses are approved by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Research within the school has been recognised for its excellence as part of the university's submission to the British Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), and in the funding provided by research councils for its innovative work.
