The Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre (Portuguese School of Equestrian Art ) was founded in 1979, but its roots lie in a predecessor school from the 18th century, the Academia Equestre da Corte Portuguesa. The mission of the School is to preserve classical dressage (Haute ecole) with Iberian horses (Lusitano).
The school is situated in the Queluz National Palace, Queluz. The personnel comprises 17 riders under the guidance of João Pedro Rodrigues.
It is directly under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea, Environment and Spatial Planning.
