Ellinthorp is a town and a locality in the Southern Downs Region, Queensland, Australia.
The township was known as Talgai before it was renamed Ellinthorp by a decision of the Queensland Executive Council on 19 March 1931 (QGG 1931:1:1515). The result of this decision is that the locality of in Ellinthorp in now an island entirely within the boundaries of the locality of Talgai. This is quite unusual in Queensland which does not normally permit such a containment, requiring all localities to have at least two neighbours.
The town is no longer populated.
