Elizabeth Frances Henstridge (born 11 September 1987) is an English actress who trained at East 15 Acting School and is best known for her role in ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Agent Jemma Simmons.
Henstridge was born in Sheffield, England, attending Meadowhead School and then King Edward VII School before graduating from the University of Birmingham. She studied at East 15 Acting School and later moved to Los Angeles.
She was cast as lead in 2012 The CW TV pilot Shelter, and co-starred in feature films The Thompsons, Gangs of Tooting Broadway, and Reach Me. On British television, she appeared on the soap opera Hollyoaks as Emily Alexander in 2011. In November 2012, she was cast as Agent Jemma Simmons, a series regular character in the ABC pilot Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The series was officially ordered on 10 May 2013, and premiered on ABC television on 24 September 2013.
In 2016, Henstridge was cast as the late Abigail Folger in the horror film Wolves at the Door, loosely based on the infamous Manson Family's murders.
