Michael Edward Bass (born July 5, 1957) is a producer, director, writer, actor and satirist. He was on the production team of the movie Tar with James Franco and Mila Kunis as well as ‘’Black Dog, Red Dog’’ with Franco, Olivia Wilde, and Whoopi Goldberg. He also co-produced with Guillermo del Toro (While She Was Out), Kevin Spacey (Mini’s First Time) and Actors Anonymous which he produced with Sara Von Kienegger.

Bass advised a boxer named Julio Caesar Chavez.

In 2004, Bass founded Bass Films along with his lifetime friend Michel Litvak. Bold Films produced the movies Slingshot, Come Early Morning and Mini’s First Time’’.

Bass left Bold Films in 2006. In 2008, Bass created Edward Bass Films

In 2015, Bass produced Actors Anonymous, along with James Franco, Chris Abernathy, Tim Astor, Jay Davis, Sara Von Kienegger, and John Watson.

In the mid-1980s, Bass and his business partner, Sol Spiegler, forged a Dun & Bradstreet credit rating in order to purchase television sets valued at $1 million on credit. The supplier never received payment and it was later discovered that the television sets had been shipped to South America. Bass and Spieler were subsequently convicted of mail fraud and served time in prison.

Bass’ work in supporting Andy Lauer with his Nonprofit Organization, Reelaid and in development of several philanthropic feature film projects won him and Lauer the White House 2007 Circle of Excellence Award in Washington DC. Bass is working with the Royal Family of Iran in developing a project about Princess Ashraf Pahlavi, the twin sister of the country's last shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was noteworthy for her support of women’s rights.
